Which fabric should I choose for an abaya?
Start with the design: is it an everyday piece, an open abaya over another layer, or a decorative occasion abaya? Assess the individual textile's coverage, drape, weight, fibre content and usable width. A jacquard can add woven visual detail; satin offers a smooth, lustrous surface; metallic-effect lurex may suit an occasion panel. A fabric family name alone does not guarantee opacity, suitability, softness or 100% silk composition. If those details are missing from an article, ask us using its code before cutting.

How much fabric should I order for an abaya or kaftan?
The featured products are offered as 3-metre fabric pieces: quantity one buys one piece, not a finished garment or a metre. One piece may not be enough for your measurements, sleeve design, garment fullness or motif matching. The selected article's usable width is important to the cutting plan; do not assume all fabrics are the same width. If buying two pieces, do not assume they will arrive as a continuous six-metre cut. Ask your dressmaker to calculate the requirement before checkout.
Buying guidance for Ramadan, Eid and other occasions
For a made-to-measure occasion abaya, plan fabric selection early enough for delivery, fittings and any lining or embroidery sourced separately. A decorative pattern can need careful placement at the centre front and sleeves. If you require modest coverage, ask the dressmaker to test the actual material and proposed layers rather than judging transparency from a screen image alone. You can also compare chiffon for sheer overlays; chiffon generally requires a coverage or lining plan.

Does “Made in Italy” mean every fabric is 100% silk?
No. Country of origin and fibre composition are different. Jacquard, satin and lurex describe aspects of construction or finish; check the individual article's fibre percentages when purity matters.
Does the price include an abaya, lining or accessories?
No. The sale is for the fabric piece described on its product page. Finished outfits and styling accessories are not included unless an individual product expressly states otherwise.
